Hey members! I can't believe we have found ourselves at the end of another year!!
My freinds and I have celebrated in th best possible way (going fishing of course!). Some of the best estuary fishing of the year has made this holiday period extra special for us! Good numbers of big flathead and whiting plus big topwater queenies. Its hard to beat these balmy summer days and hot fishing action. Merry Christmas and a happy new year! I hope to see your catches in the photo gallery next yea...Read Full Post »

Hey guys, I have continued to enjoy decent bass action near bundaberg with another cracker session on Tuesday. My young mate Cameron showed me some awesome techniques and we were into em' the entire day. At least twenty fish were caught in the session including another new PB at 53cm. This is addictive fishing, eventually I will create some albums once I sort through all the piccies.
P.S- Thank you to the members posting their catches in the photo album. Some excellent recent additions...Read Full Post »

Time has flown this year with many new advancements taking place. Due to work reasons I reluctantly left the dusty inland for the town of Hervey Bay approximately four weeks ago. It was only yesterday that I was able to enjoy a trip to one of the local lakes in search of bass. These were (until yesterday arvo) one of my bogey freshwater species. Things were very quiet for most of the day but when the sun dipped on the horizon it was hard to keep the lures away from fish. The...Read Full Post »

A while between posts after a slow year of fishing in Mount Isa....but glad to be coming back with some good fishing news! Beautiful Lake Julius provided some good fishing as Isa local Peter Langdon and I encountered last weekend. We were joined by other locals from the Mount Isa stocking group who all competed for a communal lure prize. Straight up we got onto approx a dozen fish from one point located in a shletered arm of the lake. Small vibes and medium depth minnows worke...Read Full Post »

I hope all of you were able to get on the water over the Easter break. On Tuesday my mate Heinrich and I set off for Lake Julius located approxmately 90mins drive out of Mount Isa.
On driving the Lake Julius road we noticed a pair of camels unknowingly obstructing traffic which forced us to stop. The smaller of the pair appeared to be an albino so upon seeing this I naturally I grabbed out my canon for some shots. Two seconds later the low battery signal popped up, but I...Read Full Post »

I have been busy updating a few sections of the site over the last week:
* 'The fish' page now has more info added to it and should be more user friendly. I am going to be adding more here over coming weeks.
* 'The Fishermen' will also be changing as I complete the angler profiles. Thank you to Ryan Harris, Jamie Hitchings and Steve Polzin for completing theirs.
*'The Stories' now has small thumbnail pictures so guests can choose stories visually.
*'Ph...Read Full Post »

Its been a pretty chaotic since my last entry on NQfishing.com including a great trip to the east coast, change of job, two family weddings, a restocking project, and the usual Moondarra fishing escapades. A big thanks goes to Shane Astwood for flying the flag highly in the photo gallery- some great captures of large mouth nannygai, barramundi and various other tropical species. From all accounts the towns on the east coast have produced some great fish, in particular barra, in ...Read Full Post »

Last weekend Oct 29-30 saw the running of the much anticipated 2011 Xstrata Lake Moondarra Fishing Classic. Good weather insipired many local anglers to compete and the organisers were kept very busy for the whole event. Personally I was dealt a cruel wrist injury only one week before the event eliminating my fishing chances. Even still there was heaps of entertainment and a few celebrity anglers to make it an enjoyable couple of days. A steady procession of fish...Read Full Post »
